The overload protection switch on the power strip 2113 is essentially a passive-driven thermal protection relay, typically installed on the side of the power strip near the power cord.


This type of overload protection switch has a maximum safe operating current limit. When the load on the power strip exceeds this limit, such as exceeding 15A, the overload protection switch will overheat, causing the button to automatically pop up, thus cutting off the power and protecting the electrical appliances and devices connected to the strip.


After removing the overload, simply push the button of the overload protection switch back to reset it. For overload protectors with self-resetting features, they can reset automatically without manual intervention. After resetting, the power strip can be used normally. Normally, the button of the overload protection switch is pressed in and slightly protruding.


The advantage of a power strip with an overload switch over one equipped only with a fuse and a rocker switch is that the overload protection switch can be reset repeatedly. On the other hand, once a fuse is blown due to overload, it becomes unusable and needs to be replaced before it can be used normally. Compared to a rocker switch, an overload switch provides overcurrent protection, making the electrical environment safer. Connecting electrical equipment to a power strip with an overload protection switch also enhances safety.
